Claudette Matuszewski (nee Bucki)

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce Claudette Matuszewski (nee Bucki), passed away suddenly on Friday, April 17, 2026. She was born in Buffalo New York on August 24, 1952, the daughter of the late Raymond Bucki and the late Veronica (nee Olszewski) Bucki. Claudette is predeceased by her beloved husband Sylvester "Sal" Matuszewski. Dear fiancé of Chester "Chet" Ahr. Loving sister of Deena (Dennis) Carpenter. She was adored by her nieces and nephews; David Carpenter, Melissa (Daniel) Brown, and Marc (Laura) Carpenter and loved by her great nieces and nephews; Kaila Brown, Marlena Brown, Stephanie (Patrick Bain) Palazzo, Courtney Brown, Marc Carpenter, Jr. and Kristina (Matthew) Childerhose. Claudette is also survived by Chet's sisters; Nancy (Donald) Butzek, Deborah (William) Ahr-Caldwell and Sheila (Melvyn) Rosegarden. She was a special cousin to Paulette (late Ronald) Stasiak, and Gerald Olszewski. Claudette is also survived by many dear cousins, extended family and a large circle of friends who were all like family to her. Claudette had a 45-year career working for Erie County as an Administrative Assistant retiring from the department of senior services. She loved dancing and adored cats as well as traveling. Her traveling adventures included trips to Hawaii, Las Vegas, California as well as other southwest states. She was the past Vice President of the Cheektowaga Travel Club. She graduated from Bishop O'Hern High School. Claudette had an infectious smile and warm personality which was larger than life. Her presence made everyone feel welcome. She was always ready to help anyone in need and graciously shared her time, talents and love with everyone who knew her. Although her presence will be missed terribly, her legacy of family, love and friendship along with her spirit and zest for life will always be cherished by her family and everyone who shared in her life.
