Allen E. Plunkett "Al"

At the age of 85, Allen Edward Plunkett was called to his eternal rest on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Born on Sunday, May 16, 1937, the only son of the late Stanley Plunkett and the late Marcia [nee Smolarek] Plunkett. "Al", as he was known to most, lived over 6 decades in the Kaisertown area of Buffalo and was one of six children. He was a Vietnam Veteran, having served two terms in the Army alongside his future brothers-in-law and cousin Michael Janowski. He retired as a truck driver for the Schilling Corporation and during his retired years he worked part time for Sherwin Williams as a paint specialist. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, an ice cold beer, the Buffalo Bills and anything chocolate. He married his sweetheart the former Janet E. Andrewski who grew up in the old first ward. She predeceased him on December 25, 1990. Their son, Leonard W. Plunkett also predeceased him on June 1, 1995. His daughter-in-law, the former Jacqueline A. Sweeney-Plunkett, now living in Orlando Florida adored her father-in-law as he was such a great influence on her and always freely gave the best advice and hugs anyone could ask for. Al, a very dedicated grandfather of Jacqueline [Michael] Tibbitts and Leonard "Leo" [Karen Corbett] Plunkett. Al was a fierce protector of his sisters growing up and a dedicated and loyal brother to Helen [the late Randall] Beauchamp, the late Marcia [the late Michael] Morgante, the late Rosalie [survived by Thomas] Lewandowski, Sharon [ Daniel] Janawoski and the late Teresa [the late Bernard] Sawicki. Al was known as a "wise guy" and dedicated uncle to countless nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are a dedicated group of extended family and wonderful friends.
