Gloria Marcia Stankowski (nee Witkowski) Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gloria Marcia Stankowski (nee Witkowski) age 89 a long time proud Kaisertown resident passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021. Born in Buffalo New York on September 1, 1932 the daughter of the late Glen and Iris (nee Benz) Witkowski. Gloria retired from the Buffalo School District after decades as serving at various schools as a Liberian. She earned her Bachelors Degree from Canisius College and her MBA from University at Buffalo. She loved ball room dancing at which she won many competitions in New York City and London England with her husband Leonard as her favorite dance partner. She was an excellent home maker, seamstress, baker and above all else a dedicated wife, mother, grand-mother and great grandmother. Gloria's husband, dance partner and very best friend as well as the love of her life passed away on September 25, 1975. Her older sister, Janice passed away at the age of six. Gloria will be cherished by her daughter and son-in-law Janice and Kenneth Gerk of FLA and the dearest grandmother of Paul (James) Gerk, Leslie (late Ryan) Howard, Catherine (William) Zoladz as well as five great grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren and wonderful friends still residing in the Kaisertown area of Buffalo. At Gloria's request she asked to be remembered in your thoughts and prayers and perhaps to honor her by doing an act of kindness or a good deed to help someone in need as she prided herself on doing when ever she was able. A private graveside service will be held for her immediate family at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
