Theodore Richard Trotter

Theodore R. Trotter, "Teddy" as he was known by all passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after a long illness. He was retired from the United States Postal Service after 45 years of dedicated and loyal service as a carrier and then supervisor. He was a proud WWII Veteran and a recipient of a Purple Heart amongst other accolades. He was a very quiet man, but his words were profound. He had a dry sense of humor but was also the life of the party. His family will remember him the most for his loyalty, hard work, dedication and love of his family. He lived most of his life in the Kaisertown section of Buffalo which he always called home. He loved being in service to others- especially his family and his country. He married the love of his life Catherine E. (nee Stodarski) Trotter in 1956 and together they had two sons; Roger (late Dianne) Trotter and Richard (Elizabeth) Trotter. Teddy loved being a dad and participated in every sports tournament and school activity always instilling in his boys to do their best and have fun. His words of encouragement and support are precious and very treasured memories. Catherine passed away in 1990. Teddy took great pride and immeasurable joy in being a grandfather and teaching his grandchildren the same values as he taught his sons. His grandchildren always held a special place in his heart and throughout his life he never forgot a birthday, anniversary or special occasion. His grandchildren, Teresa (William) Yetter, Jack (Brittany) Trotter, Lauren (Stephen) Taberski and Kimberly (Edward) Bishop always called him "pops" and was in constant contact with him all the time. Teddy was proud to become a great and a great-great grandfather. Family was his world and every phone conversation ended with "I love you always". He closed his eyes and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus after a courageous fight with Dementia and Parkinsons Disease. His legacy will be cherished and continued not only through his sons and grandchildren and their families but shared and cherished by his surviving sister Rose Mary (the late Walter) Pinkowski. He prayed daily for his bride Catherine, his parents and his late brothers Walter (the late Anne) Trotter and Andrew (the late Virginia) Trotter that they were happy and together in the Glory of God and that he too one day would be reunited with them. Once can only imagine the reunion they are sharing filled with sarcasm, love and of course euchre. His muched loved nieces and nephews and their families shared a very special bond with Teddy he was always so proud of.
