Leonard A. Kocol

Age 87, passed away suddenly at Mercy Hospital Buffalo on Friday, January 22, 2021. He was a Kaisertown resident. Leonard was born on December 16, 1933 in Buffalo New York to the late Andrew and Sophia (nee Rogacki) Kocol. He was a head mechanic at Westwood Pharmaceutical where he retired after thirty-five years of loyal and dedicated service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Leonard is the beloved husband of 53 years to Nancy C. (nee Bogdan) Kocol. Dearest father of Peter Kocol and Colleen Kocol. Loving grandfather of Kimberly and Christina. Fond brother-in- law of Eugene (Patti) Bogdan, Stephen (Deborah) Bogdan, Lorraine (late Richard) Grady, Mary Ann Poniewierski and Kathleen Smigera. Leonard is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family as well as predeceased by family members. His passions included watching the Buffalo Bills, the Sabres, the bandidts and the Bisons. But his true love was watching his two granddaughters play basketball, softball, soccer and run track. He never missed one of their games. He also shared his granddaughters' love of animals. Leonard was always ready to help anyone in need, especially his family and neighbors. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Leonard's Memorial Mass at 11:00 o'clock on Friday January 29, 2021 at Fourteen Holy Helpers Church 1350 Indian Church Road West Seneca New York 14224. Please note that if you are attending the Memorial Mass you must wear a facial covering and social distancing will be in place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a limited number of guests will be allowed in the church. A private interment will take place at St. Matthews cemetery 180 Old French Road in West Seneca.
